Effects of lactic acid:
1. Restoring the pH balance of the skin: the activity of enzymes involved in the synthesis of the skin barrier depends on the pH of the stratum corneum of the skin. The pH of the skin can change due to harmful environmental effects, the use of decorative cosmetics, improper skin care or certain pathologies. Lactic acid helps to achieve the correct pH level, restoring the pH balance and the proper skin renewal process.
2. Keratolytic effect: the connections between corneocytes in the horny layer of the epidermis are broken, which leads to the exfoliation of dead skin cells. this process promotes skin renewal by activating cell proliferation in the basal layer of the epidermis.
3.
